The case can be used in courses or modules on leadership, health care, non-profit organizations, and communication at the undergraduate and graduate levels. After working through the case and assignment questions, students will be able to ·increase their awareness of what it takes to lead in a crisis situation, in particular how to navigate a publicity crisis through effective communication and stakeholder management; ·discuss mental health stigma in communities, especially as it relates to forensic mental health, and the role that various stakeholders (e.g., the government, the media, etc.) play in positively or negatively contributing to mental health stigma; and ·understand the importance of reputation management, particularly focused around private and public funding considerations for a non-profit organization.
