Disruptive Innovation: Developing and Adapting Business Models for an Uncertain Future (Digital Learning Experience)

W35278
Résumé
The aim of this Course DLE is to investigate how innovation influences competition, and why it carries with it great potential for both opportunity and threat. When innovation influences competition, we often use the word disruption to describe what has happened to an established competitive landscape. As we'll see, though, the word 'disruption' has become overused. Thus, a secondary purpose of this DLE is to refine common notions of disruption into a more precise concept that is useful to managers.
Objectifs pédagogiques
At the end of this course DLE, you should be able to: Distinguish between the different types of disruption and understand why it matters to consider them separately; Explain classic Christensen disruption and why it is so difficult to manage. Explain platform dynamics, including the opportunities and threats that arise from the possibility of platform envelopment. Explain architectural (aka "supply side") disruption and what makes it difficult to manage. Describe some of the factors that make digital transformation difficult for established industrial firms.
