Yestudent: Valuation of a startup seeking seed financing

Yestudent, a young startup based in Toulouse, has created a hosting platform open to all students looking for housing and those wishing to share their place of life. The company is in the process of undertaking its initial seed financing round, so it can recruit ten people to accelerate its development and its international growth.
This case study has been designed to be used in teaching about sources of finance for young firms, and valuation methods in the context of the initial rounds of seed financing.
While the company is real, the financial information in this study has been adapted to enable the use of different calculation methods in a teaching situation. However, the actual choice made by the company will be revealed during the case debriefing.
