Résumé

This teaching case deals with the brand The Kooples that has been founded in 2008 by Alexandre, Laurent and Raphaël Elicha. It operates on the affordable luxury market, a segment of the fashion market which is growing fast. The case shows that the market is highly competitive and that The Kooples is, just as its main competitors, in an internationalization race. The announcement in March 2019 of the buyout of the brand by the Swiss group Maus shows that it is made at the price of the brand's independence.
