NOSSE: An SME's rocky journey toward a human-centric workplace

G2161(GB)
Résumé
This case study tells the story of Nosse, a French small - and medium - sized enterprise (SME) specializing in envelope manufacturing.
In 1995, faced with severe internal issues and a declining market, its new owner-manager introduced a radical management innovation (MI) based on humanistic values.
The company was revitalized through this approach, but in 2018, Nosse once again faced difficulties that led to massive layoffs.

The case explores the paradox of these layoffs occurring in an SME that champions a human-centered MI.
This paradox raises fundamental questions: How can an organization rethink its managerial practices and philosophy? How can the evolution of a management model be legitimized consistently?

This case highlights the key aspects of MI and how its components can evolve over time.
