Lagardère Travel Retail is one of the Business Unit of the Lagardère group. When the case was written, the Group was in the middle of a major strategic evolution, with some assets that were being sold (among which some press activities). Arnaud Lagardère has indeed decided that he would center his Group on two major businesses: book publishing with Hachette and Travel Retail. The Travel retail business hence becomes the unit with the biggest growth potential, in a market that will be growing for the coming decades.
