IT LABS: Creativity and innovation in the industrial world

IT Labs Group is a leading European multinational in the field of software publishing. The site of interest is located in a major technology park.
Our focus is on the Research and Development entity, where three types of research are conducted: fundamental; applied and incremental, enabling the same idea to result in a publication, a patent, or an industrial application.
Work organization is based on project teams, primarily funded through national an European calls for proposals, and collaborating closely with academic and industrial partners.

The hybrid profile of the researchers requires specific management. Based on a qualitative study conducted through semi-structured in interviews, we explore the perspectives of industrial researchers who experiment with creativity in an innovation context and whose hybrid profile calls for specific management.

- Understand the purpose of scientific research and identify the different types of research
- Identify the tensions generated in industrial research and reflect on other types of tensions in organizations
- Understand the nature of creativity with regard to innovation, as well as the various types and levels of creativity and innovation
- Reflect on the conditions favorable to the motivation of industrial researchers with hybrid profiles and their specific management
