Challenges and Opportunities of a Peri-urban Legacy

In many countries, family farms located on the outskirts of large cities are at a crossroads: rapid urbanization, pressure on land, and generational shifts.
This case does not claim to provide a single solution to the challenges faced by farming families. Rather, it aims to illustrate the complexity of the choices to be made, taking into account economic, social, emotional and territorial dimensions.
Through the story of Bernardo and Adriana, it invites students to explore different possible trajectories for a family farm in transition, in a context where traditional reference points are being challenged.
