Résumé

The main objective of the "Emprunte Mon Toutou" case study is to understand the specific faced by startups seeking funding during the crucial seed phase.
It relates the journey of the startup "Emprunte Mon Toutou" until its first round of financing. Thanks to the figures provided by the case, it's possible to understand two methods of financial valuation: the DCF method and the comparables method.

Thus, this case allows to understand the impact of the financing choices of the first years on the possible evolutions for the company.
In addition, it allows the learners to put themselves in a negotiation situation during fund raising and to reflect on the notion of dilution of the founders.
Finally, the information given in the answer key allows for a discussion of how the company managed the effects of the health crisis that occurred shortly after the fundraising.
